  • Plaza de los Ponchos: also known as Mercado Centenario, it is the scene of the largest craft fair in northern Ecuador. Located in the province of Imbabura in the town of Otavalo. The activity of Plaza de Ponchos Ecuador is aimed at marketing artisanal items, both locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally. Otavalo Textiles is its flagship of artisanal production, however, it also offers other types of products made of wood, works of art with ceramics, wood, paint, metal, etc.
  • Cuicocha Lake: The first thing that catches your attention is the majesty of the three-kilometer-diameter lagoon, its crystalline waters and the Teodoro Wolf (the largest) and José María Yerovi islets. They are located in the center of a volcanic crater and are divided by “The Channel of Dreams”. In that place live the guinea pigs, which give the lagoon its name.
  • The Peguche Waterfall: It is a recreational environmental area, made up of the protective forest, with an area of 40 hectares, a tourist reference due to its attractiveness, heritage value and level of acceptance by visitors, tourists and hikers.
DAY 1: ​PICK UP FROM QUITO - SAN PABLO LAKE - OTAVALO

Early Hotel pickup. We will head by private transportation to the north of Quito, Otavalo is located in the province of Imbabura and is a magical city surrounded by mountains, lakes, farmland, and indigenous communities. Crossing the Guayllabamba Valley we will reach the Quitsato Sundial, the place where the Equator Line passes. Then we will make a stop at the San Pablo Lake viewpoint and continue the trip to Otavalo. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Plaza de Ponchos, the largest indigenous market in South America, an ideal place for shopping. After that, we will go to a local historical hacienda where we spend the night. Overnight in Otavalo.

DAY 2: ​​​PEGUCHE WATERFALL – ACTIVITIES IN A LOCAL HACIENDA

After breakfast we will head to the small community of Peguche, known for its weaving. We will go to the Peguche Waterfall, a beautiful and spiritual site where the inhabitants, on the eve of Inti Raymi, take a sacred bath under the waterfall. Then we will return to the hacienda where you can do activities, we can go horseback riding, or take some Andean cooking classes, embroidery classes with artisans, or music classes on Andean instruments. These activities are optional and have an extra cost.

DAY 3: ​COTACACHI – CUICOCHA LAKE - RETURN TO QUITO

Breakfast. The adventure continues towards the Cuicocha Lagoon in the Cotacachi – Cayapas Reserve. Cuicocha is a volcanic crater that has a diameter of 3 km. The islands in the center of Cuicocha has an endemic flora and fauna, we´ll have a boat ride around the lake and a hike to the lookout. Afterwards we´ll go to Cotacachi, famous for its leather articles. Time to the lunch and visit the shops. Return to Quito in the ​afternoon
