To reach the meeting point, travel the night before to “El Puente Cuyabeno,” the entrance to the Cuyabeno Reserve. From Quito by bus, the journey takes approximately 9 hours.
The adventure begins at 11:30 AM at the entrance to the reserve, with a canoe trip down the river to the lodge (around 3 hours), exploring the surroundings while spotting monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. Lunch is provided upon arrival, followed by time to relax.
In the afternoon, the river and lagoons are explored in search of more wildlife. There is also time to swim and enjoy the sunset. At night, a canoe expedition takes place to look for caimans. Dinner is served afterward.
For those interested in learning more about the Amazon rainforest, the naturalist guide offers evening talks covering topics such as culture and communities, flora, fauna, and conservation.

How can you reach the Cuyabeno Reserve from Quito?
Regarding transportation from Quito to Cuyabeno Reserve, the lodges offer a semi-private bus service for tourists.
The bus costs 40 USD each way, and departs from Quito at night (11:00 PM) to Cuyabeno Bridge on the following days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. all the guides arrive on Cuyabeno Bridge with their canoes to meet clients and start the trip**
The bus return departs from Cuyabeno Bridge around 11:00 a.m. after the tour. The lodge guide will leave you at this meeting on time for the trip back to Quito. The cost is USD 40 for the ride to Quito, and operates on the following days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
