We head towards Mindo Cloudforest where fun and adventure in nature are guaranteed and located about 49 miles from Quito. Mindo is the most famous town for birdwatchers in the Andes of Ecuador, due to the number of species we can find in the area. Orchids, bromeliads, and more than 40 species of butterflies are the highlights of this area. Our guide will lead to some activities possible to do on this day, some of them could be birdwatching hiking, also an ecological walk to the waterfalls or canopy. You will have time for lunch (Not included), and then we will visit the Chocolate Factory or Butterfly Farm. Overnight in Mindo

This morning we wake up early to arrive at the dawn at Angel Paz's farm, which has become famous for offering the best sites to see birds such as the Yellow-breasted and Moustached Antpittas, as well as the Gallito de la Peña. Walk in the thick forest and then climb back up to a clearing where we will relax while enjoying breakfast. After lunch, we will have the opportunity to observe the colorful mountain tanagers. Back to the hotel to rest.

Today we go in search of different species, in two wonderful reserves run by the Mindo Cloud Forest Foundation. This allows us to look for endemic species of the Chocó region, such as the Chocó Toucan, the Chocó Trogon, and the fascinating Club-winged Manakin. Milpe is recognized as an Important Bird Area in Ecuador. It is a small reserve and perhaps the best place to find three small and beautiful local species of tanagers: Ochre-breasted, White-shouldered and Honeycreepers. In Rio Silanche, look for bird species such as the Plumbeous Forest-Falcon, Dusky Pigeon, Rose-faced and Bronzed-winged Parrots, Pale-mandibed Aracari and the Chocó Woodpecker. Back to the hotel for a rest.

This small reserve is difficult to access, but here you can find the species most sought after by enthusiasts. For this tour, we must wake up early and leave at 4:30, to drive for an hour and a half and then walk along a muddy road. After the effort, you will feel rewarded by seeing the umbrella birds. In the Aftenoon we will return to Quito.
